Dear friends of the Hilton Head Choral Society,

I am sorry  to inform you that our “Music, By George” concert on March 27th has been cancelled due to the national Covid-19 health crisis and will not be rescheduled. We had initially hoped to reschedule the concert but have determined that will not be possible. This is the first time in my 19 years with the HHCS that we have not been able to reschedule a postponed concert. We are very disappointed that we will not be able to share this music with you at this time but, we will be offering much of the “Music, By George” repertoire during next season’s concerts.

There are two options available for your “Music, By George” ticket. You may request a full refund or, you may choose to transfer the cost of your ticket to a tax deductible donation that will directly support the Hilton Head Choral Society. You can let us know which of these options you choose by emailing us at: tickets@hiltonheadchoralsociety.org  or by calling 843-341-3818.

It is our hope that our May 24 “America Sings!” concert, with guest artists The Charlestones, will go ahead as planned. We will continue to monitor the local situation in making the best decision in everyone’s best interest. You can check the HHCS website at www.hiltonheadchoralsociety.org for all of the latest news and updates.

The HHCS Board and I are busily preparing for the 45th season, and my 20th year, of bringing quality choral music to you and the Lowcountry. As always, we thank you for your ongoing support of the Hilton Head Choral Society and look forward to seeing you at a future concert.

Stay safe, wash your hands, and keep a song in your heart,

Tim Reynolds
Artistic Director

Quick … name the first 5 people that come to mind when you hear the name George. Perhaps you thought of the new baby in the royal family or the first president of the United States. But most likely, some of your Georges were music-related Georges.

The point is … we all love Georges! Especially the musical kind, right? What better way to spend an unforgettable evening than celebrating the Georges through music, by George! Join the Hilton Head Choral Society as they present their spring concert, “Music, By George,” on Friday, March 27 at 7 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 540 William Hilton Parkway.

The concert will feature the 85-voice chorus, along with orchestra, highlighting the Choral Society’s 2019-2020 theme, “The Music In Us All.”  You can count on Artistic Director Tim Reynolds to program a musical evening filled with light classical, Broadway show tunes, and songs from the Great American Songbook that are sure to get your toes tapping and bring a smile to your face. There will be music from George Friedrich Handel, George Gershwin and several Georges in between!

I promise you’ll be singing along to some of your favorite tunes including “I Got Rhythm,” “Strike Up the Band” and “Embraceable You.” You will be “royally” entertained with music from the coronation of King George VI and George Bizet’s dazzling opera “Carmen.”

You don’t want to miss this one of a kind concert celebrating the Georges we all know and love, so get your tickets soon! Tickets are $25 – $40 for adults and $10 – $20 for children. You can purchase tickets online or at the door, if available. Buying tickets in advance is strongly suggested. All seating is reserved. To purchase tickets or for more information, call 843-341-3818, visit our website at www.hiltonheadchoralsociety.org, or email tickets@hiltonheadchoralsociety.org.
