“Celebrate Unity” – Our 50th Anniversary Season Opener!
This fall marks a monumental moment in the history of the Hilton Head Choral Society – our 50th Anniversary Season! We’re thrilled to invite you to help us kick off this golden milestone with a special opening concert, “Celebrate Unity,” on Friday, September 26th at 7 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 540 William Hilton Parkway, Hilton Head Island. This celebratory evening is generously sponsored by Custom Audio Video Integrated Home.
A Concert That Speaks to the Heart
Our anniversary season begins with a powerful message: unity through music. The “Celebrate Unity” concert will feature an uplifting and diverse program designed to inspire, connect, and celebrate our shared humanity.

We’ll also feature a special medley of Stand by Me and Lean on Me, highlighting the evening’s theme of hope, compassion, and community.
A World Premiere by Z. Randall Stroope
We are especially honored to welcome celebrated American composer, conductor, and recordist Z. Randall Stroope to the Lowcountry for this concert. As part of our 50th anniversary celebration, the Hilton Head Choral Society has commissioned a brand-new work by Stroope titled Courage Sings. This powerful original composition, written especially for our ensemble, will make its world premiere during the concert–a truly historic moment for our organization.
With over 200 published works and performances in more than 26 countries, Stroope is one of today’s most accomplished and beloved voices in choral music. His presence, and this extraordinary new piece, make this concert one you simply can’t miss.
“We are absolutely thrilled to kick off our 50th anniversary season with a concert that celebrates the heart and history of the Hilton Head Choral Society,” said Dr. Dustin C. Ousley, Artistic Director. “It’s an incredible honor to welcome the acclaimed Z. Randall Stroope to Hilton Head for this milestone occasion. His commissioned piece beautifully captures the spirit of our journey, and we’re so proud to share its world premiere with our community.”
