About Us

Founded in 1975, The Hilton Head Choral Society (HHCS) is an open membership for those who love to sing and enjoy good fellowship. We are the longest-running performing arts organization in the community.

HHCS’s repertoire includes major classical and contemporary works, as well as seasonal favorites. The ensemble presents four major concerts per season – a Fall Pops Concert, a Christmas Concert, a Masterworks/Classics Concert, and a Memorial Day concert honoring America and our Armed Forces with patriotic music. A typical performance may total over 150 singers and musicians, performed for audiences up to 900 strong! Performance pieces range from Opera to Broadway, Classical to Pops, as well as commissioned works by world class composers. Concerts are held at the First Presbyterian Church and Holy Family Catholic Church. Both places have amazing acoustics, and are beautiful concert venues.

The HHCS is also known for its community involvement and outreach performances. We are a non-profit organization, funded in part by the South Carolina Arts Commission, which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts. The primary source of financial support comes from concert ticket sales, member dues, patrons, donors, sponsors, and grants.

It’s easy to purchase concert tickets with our online ticketing system. You may also call our box office at (843) 341-3818 to place your order. All seats are reserved. Depending on availability, you may purchase tickets at the door, but our performances typically sell out in advance.

The Hilton Head Choral Society is a member of Chorus America, a national organization promoting the art of choral singing.
