Celebrating 20 years as Artistic Director, Tim Reynolds has taken the Hilton Head Choral Society to new heights and new locales. In addition to expanding local programming, Tim has led the Choral Society in two European concert tours, performing in renowned venues in Munich, Vienna, Salzburg, Florence, Venice, Perugia, Luzern and Prague.
A music educator, church musician, opera/musical theater conductor, singer and voice teacher, Reynolds makes it his mission to challenge the Choral Society to become one of the leading musical organizations of the region and one of the Island’s top performing arts ensembles. Under his direction, the HHCS nearly doubled in size, added performances to its annual concert season and diversified its repertoire to include everything from classical choral works to contemporary standards, pops and musical theatre offerings and the commissioning of new choral/orchestral works.
Tim further enhanced the organization, and musical community, by founding the HHCS Youth Choir and Chamber Singers and launching the popular Hilton Head Choral Society Presents series, bringing world-class vocal ensembles to our Island audiences, including the Vienna Choir Boys, the American Boy Choir; the King’s Singers, Swingle Singers and VOCES8 from Great Britain, and the San Francisco based all-male ensemble Chanticleer.
Tim also initiated the Festival Invitational Concert series, which brings members of the HHCS together with other area choristers for combined community concerts giving local singers a “big chorus” experience. The HHCS also produced its first choral festival in 2017 inviting choruses from Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Missouri to participate.
Each year Tim and the Choral Society lead community celebrations at Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day.
Come hear us or join us to experience the magic of Tim’s musical virtuosity.
