We recently donated over 55 costumes to the Youth Program at the Hilton Head Ballroom Dance studio and we couldn’t be happier! The Hilton Head Ballroom Dance studio is the perfect, new home for the collection of clothes last used by our Youth Choir in 2011.
The Hilton Head Ballroom Dance studio has long been one of our favorite places in the area, and their Youth Program is one of their most popular courses. The instructors there are devoted to creating a warm, fun, and friendly space for children to learn the precise art of dance.
The Youth Choir at the Choral Society was under the leadership of Artistic Director, Tim Reynolds and Lori Maurer, Youth Choir Director (hired by the HHCS) from 2006-2011. Since then, the youth costumes, a beautiful collection of 55 dresses, 8-10 cummerbunds and bow ties, worth over $4000 altogether, have been meticulously maintained in our climate-controlled storage area – just waiting to be upcycled to the right place. We are thrilled to have found that place at the Hilton Head Ballroom Dance Studio, where our donation of stylish clothes will be worn in upcoming recitals and other events. Mr. Reynolds says the move is a particularly special development, as the costumes will be transferred “from young people to young people, while staying within the local community.”
At the Choral Society, we are all so excited to donate our costumes to the Youth Program at the Hilton Head Ballroom Dance Studio. The Choral Society and the Ballroom Dance studio naturally share a devotion to the arts, and it is more than fitting for our costumes to become theirs!
