Kick off the holiday season in the most joyful way possible —

with the Hilton Head Choral Society’s “Celebrate the Holidays” concert on Friday, December 5 at 7 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 540 William Hilton Parkway, Hilton Head Island.

This Lowcountry annual tradition brings together 70 choral voices and a full orchestra for an evening that beautifully blends cherished holiday traditions with fresh, festive favorites. It’s an evening where families and friends can come together to experience the magic of the season through song.

A Musical Celebration 50 Years in the Making

As part of the Choral Society’s 50th anniversary season, this year’s program pays tribute to the group’s rich history with selections from Handel’s Messiah – a nod to the organization’s very first concert in 1975. The evening will also feature beloved carols such as Joy to the World, O Little Town of Bethlehem,
O Holy Night, and even a dash of fun with the theme from the holiday movie Elf.

A highlight of the evening will be a touching performance of Silent Night, arranged by former HHCS Artistic Director John Carter, honoring both his legacy and the Choral Society’s long-standing role as Hilton Head’s oldest performing arts organization.

“The holidays are a time for connection, reflection, and joy,” said Dr. Dustin C. Ousley, Artistic Director of the Hilton Head Choral Society. “This concert is designed to bring our community together through the timeless power of music.”

Giving Back Through Music

The spirit of giving continues as the Choral Society partners once again with the United Way of the Lowcountry in support of Operation Holiday Heroes, which works alongside the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program and area nonprofits. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped musical toy to donate – helping bring the joy of music and the magic of Christmas to children and families in Beaufort and Jasper counties.

Don’t miss this uplifting evening of song, spirit, and community as we celebrate the season – and our 50th year — together.

Every holiday season, the Choral Society seeks to give back to the community. This year, we kicked off the “season of giving” with Operation Christmas Child through Samaritans Purse. HHCS members, Morgan Harrison and Jenna Gaddis, spearheaded this year’s Operation Christmas Child shoebox filling project. The HHCS was able to fill 50 shoeboxes that will help to brighten children’s holidays all across the world.
