Our Christmas concert is one of our favorite events of the year, an annual tradition that brings out the child in all of us at the Choral Society. During the weeks leading up to the big night, you’ll find us working like happy little elves, planning and rehearsing to bring you the joy of holiday music.
This year, we have been having ourselves an even merrier time than usual! HHCS members are going to many of our advertisers to take pictures of our holiday posters displayed in stores and restaurants in the area. We’ve been able to capture many of our favorite friends and biggest supporters smiling brightly next to our poster – smiles that warm our hearts much as they do when we see you light up as we sing on the night of the concert.
This year, THE SOUNDS OF CHRISTMAS will be at First Presbyterian Church on Friday, December 13th, at 7pm. If you don’t have your tickets yet, please call 843-341-3818, visit www.hiltonheadchoralsociety.org, or email tickets@hiltonheadchoralsociety.org. The show is always a holiday favorite and often sells out. The 90-minute concert will feature the 85-voice chorus with orchestra, and promises to capture the joy, magic and effervescence of the holiday. Come listen to the sounds of the seasons soar inside First Presbyterian, where the Christmas decorations set the stage with an atmosphere as beautiful, light-hearted, nostalgic, and traditional as the music itself. You’ll hear popular holiday favorites, including “Sleigh Ride” and “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” as well as time-honored classics, such as Cacinni’s “Ave Maria” and Mendelssohn’s “There Shall a Star Come Out of Jacob”.
And you can start humming along now as you look at some of the pictures we’ve taken with friends around town, from Belfair Fine Wines & Spirits to Beach Properties of Hilton Head to Coastal States Bank and many, many more …
